This passive solar 1bd/.75ba cute ~900sf strawbale home was designed by Tonson Saryon and built by Paul Kopanna and sits on .5 acres near paved roads in Chalet One. Built in 2004, the single-level home has high ceilings and adobe floors with in-floor radiant heat plus a wood stove for cozy warmth, while the southern windows fill the living room with light. The far corner of the living room has a small office niche. There is one bedroom with a shoji sliding window to the living room for extra light. The kitchen has tall, open, re-claimed Douglas fir cabinets with a good window over the sink and a large dinette table with wooden benches adjacent to the kitchen. A 3/4 bath and laundry/utility room completes the home.

The home has a metal roof and earthen plaster inside and out. There are good Valley views from the western living room window.

Outside is a nicely-kept grow dome with interior brick planter wall and an ETS heater to maintain a growing temperature inside, even when the weather is freezing outside. The side yard is fenced with gardens and has a private feeling.
