I started at Darlene Yarbrough Real Estate in 2017, and after six years of mentorship, became Owner-Broker in 2023. I love my work and living in the San Luis Valley - a land of stark beauty, with soaring mountains, sparkling creeks, high-desert fauna and flora, quiet, solitude, tranquility, sunny days, starry nights, community spirit, and myriad outdoor activities.
Buying or selling a home is often the most significant transaction one will experience. It needs to be expertly navigated, informed by unparalleled market knowledge, quick and effective communication, strategic negotiation, and meticulous contract work. While the dollar values may be lower, the same applies to buying and selling vacant land. My mission is to meet and exceed your expectations, working tirelessly in pursuit of your goals.
I support local events, businesses, and non-profits, belong to Realtors of Central Colorado, the Colorado Association of Realtors, and the National Association of Realtors. I serve on the boards of Baca Grande Water & Sanitation District, Crestone Eagle Community Media and Crestone Peak Community Housing. I live in the Baca Grande with my wife and two cats. In my free time, I love working outside on our property, amidst the breathtaking nature that drew us here.

Following a Real Estate career in Dallas, and after coming back and forth to Crestone for 10 years, I relocated here in 1994. From 1995 to 2023, I acted as Owner/Broker of Darlene Yarbrough Real Estate, fluently handling a diverse range of Real Estate transactions: retreat centers, commercial buildings, and a myriad of residential and land properties. Through sustained success with my Team, I established my company as the foremost Real Estate Company in Crestone.
Along with articulate technical expertise, I provide superior focus and personal attention to my clients’ many needs. As a result, past clients are eager to spread the word about their wonderful experiences. As a broker in a small town, I often work with buyers and sellers on the same transaction.

Laura began her real estate career in Minnesota and Wisconsin as a REALTOR®. After a visit with her father and stepmother, residents of Crestone for over 25 years, she became enamored by the beauty of Crestone and knew it was the perfect place to call home nestled under the mountains. In 2018 she moved and began her Crestone Colorado real estate career developing skills necessary for this specific market while promoting Crestone’s uniqueness.
Since 2018, Laura has become an expert in the sale of Crestone area real estate. In 2021, she closed 99 transactions, grossing over 14 million in sales. She earned much experience in the diversity of each transaction, gaining confidence in her knowledge of the local housing market and surrounding Crestone area.
Laura is passionate about helping people and brings warmth, integrity and nurturing to each transaction.
